Happy New Year!

No, we didn't fall off a cliff and die on impact. Nor did we walk into oncoming traffic and get hit by a bus. We have been doing the family thing for a while this month, as has everyone. But here are some pics from the past few weeks:

Shooting at The Greenbrier over Thanksgiving

Allison went hiking with Katie also

We are staying here to celebrate the New Year, but we will have more pics coming after the 1st!

Snow Day...

So we woke up this morning and found snow on the ground...in Winston-Salem!! Will woke me up at 7:15 to show me, and I was so excited....although it's nothing compared to what we saw out in Colorado, but was still exciting!

Our backyard...it wasn't enough to make a snowball!

Gracie was hesitant about the snow, but saw her bucket and was happy to play!
We thought our friends in CO would like to see some NC snow!!! Hopefully more snow will come soon!!

The Long Journey Home...

Tonight is our last night on the road...tomorrow we will be back in NC and begin a new chapter in our life...this past week we had a week of "lasts" in Boulder, starting with our last trip up to Estes Park and Rocky Mtn Nat'l Park...

AND IT SNOWED WHILE WE WERE HIKING!!! I was so excited because I've been praying for snow before we left CO, but Will on the other hand was not...he chose not to wear a long sleeve shirt or bring a coat to go hiking at 8000 ft + elevation...

We hiked up to Nymph Lake and Dream Lake...one of my favorite hikes in RMNP...Dream Lakes looks similar to Maroon Bells in Aspen...

Dream Lake...

We had to cross this little bridge on our hike, and it was really narrow...we pretended it was a balance beam...

We had a wonderful time on our hike in the snow...and visited the Christmas store in Estes Park, which was great as always! We also had dinner with our great friends out in Boulder this past week and hit up all our favorite restaurants in Boulder...

Dinner with our southern friends Nick and Beebe at their house in Chataqua Park...

Lunch with our NC friend Catherine at Spuds in Boulder, a restaurant that only serves french fries...

Dinner with our neighbors, Cameron and Brad, and their dog Kita...

Dinner at Hapa, Will's new favorite sushi restaurant with Catherine and Mandy...

Breakfast at Lucile's, a favorite breakfast place with friends Emma and Merritt...

Appetizers and drinks with Nick and Beebe on our last night, at Tahona...across the street was the CU pep rally going on with the buffalo, Ralphie and a huge marching band...

Our last dinner in Boulder at Pasta Jays with Robin and Christine...

Then we headed to my favorite bar one last time...the Walrus...they serve my favorite beer, Buff Gold...

It's my favorite bar because they have barrels of peanuts for everyone to eat...I LOVE getting a big handful and eating them...

We had a wonderful last week in Boulder, and are so grateful for all our wonderful friends we made out there! We will certainly miss y'all.

It's so hard to believe it's already been a year...we have done so many fun things and traveled to so many places...it's hard to say what was my favorite thing...ice fishing...fly fishing...hiking...dog sledding....snowshoeing...too many things to choose from.

We have been so blessed this past year in being able to have this fun adventure, and having so many family and friends to support us...for me it's bittersweet coming home...we have so many wonderful memories out in Boulder, and so many wonderful things to look forward to back home in NC.

But we can always come back to visit...

Last weeks in Boulder...

On our trip the other week we also traveled up to Montana and stayed up in Whitefish for two nights, visited Glacier National Park, and then drove down to Big Sky. We didn't take that many pictures, but it was beautiful up there. After Big Sky we drove back through Yellowstone again to get to Boulder...what a wonderful trip!!

Our time in Boulder is coming to an end...which makes me very sad because I LOVE it out here! So we have been doing some fun things these past couple of weeks besides packing...we celebrated halloween boulder style!

We were Peter and Lois Griffin from Family Guy...

Robin was a party animal, Lois, and then Christine was Nancy Kerrigan...

All of us out on Pearl Street with our friend Nick...

Boulder goes really crazy at halloween...

Yes, that is a woman running down Pearl Street with a pumpkin on her head, naked...

Every halloween there is a naked pumpkin run down Pearl St in Boulder (happened around 11pm), and people run naked with carved pumpkins on their heads, carrying bags with their clothes...

It was hilarious! There were at least 50 people that ran (guys and girls) and tons of people lined up cheering them on...no policeman! That's Boulder for you...but apparently Boulder police got in trouble last year for not arresting anyone so 12 people were arrested this year...although there is a naked bike ride every Thursday night down Pearl St and there was recently a naked bike protest in Boulder against oil in which no one got arrested....you just got to love Boulder... :)

After halloween, we have been packing, and had a Boulder thanksgiving at John and Lisa's on Sunday night...it was so much fun! I only have one picture because I forgot to take any...

We also went down to Pearl St on halloween day where they had trick-or-treating for kids and ran into John, Tyler, Judy, and Lisa...

Today we saw snow...more to come!
